It looks set to be a great opening day at the first Grand Slam event of the year. The first day shall see 5 Brits in action as Heather Watson takes on Victoria Azarenka at 11:00am local time on the Rod Laver Arena, whilst James Ward faces Slovakian Blaz Kavoic on court 11.
Laura Robson will open her campaign against thirteenth seed, Jelena Jankovic as the last afternoon match, whilst court 11 will host another two British matches, featuring Elena Baltacha and Anne Keothavong against Stephanie Foretz Gacon of France and Mona Barthel of Germany respectively.
Possible mouthwatering matches tomorrow could feature Fernando Verdasco against home crowd favourite, teenager, Bernard Tomic, who may trouble the twenty second seed, as he has surged up the rankings in the last 12 months. Other likely tussles for victory may be seen on Margaret Court Arena as the evening match features Jarkko Nieminen against Argentine, David Nalbandian and on court 6, Juan Monaco of Argentina will face tricky opponent Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany.
Also in action tomorrow is Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Juan-Martín Del Potro, Tomas Berdych, John Isner, Mardy Fish, Nicholas Almagro and Feliciano Lopez to name but a few.
Many of the seeded players from the WTA Tour will feature in a jammed packed day: Kim Clijsters, Caroline Wozniacki, Victoria Azarenka, Daniela Hantuchova, Julia Goerges, Agnieska Radwanska and many more.
