Maria spoke very honestly and factually during her press conference yesterday after her victory in the first round and addressed those pregnancy rumours and revealed that she will not be getting married in November.

Maria Sharapova says that she had contracted a stomach virus just before the Olympic final. Upon her return to America, she had made investigations through blood tests and an ultrasound and as a result, she therefore withdrew from Montreal and Cincinnati to rest.

“I had the evidence of what was going on through the analysis. It was really weird, I was told that everything was fine and that I was not pregnant.”

Maria did not want to say how severe the pain was during the Olympic final, saying only that “it was not so bad.”

The Russian tennis player has also said that she will not marry in November with her boyfriend, Sasha Vujacic as speculated by many
